Health, Safety & Welfare within Brookes Decorators Ltd
All our operatives are thoroughly aware of their duties under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 (HASWA). They understand their responsibility towards not only themselves, but also to colleagues, other contractors, members of the public etc.
Our operatives all hold CSCS Cards and are fully trained in their field. They regularly attend Health and Safety Training Courses, e.g. Asbestos Awareness and Manual Handling, and attend a mandatory Tool Box Talk every month.
Prior to the commencement of any contract, a full Risk Assessment and Method Statement are conducted and the findings reported to staff so that risks can be eliminated wherever possible. Regular random site visits are also carried out to ensure safe working practises are being adhered to.
Brookes Decorators Ltd is CHAS accredited (Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme), which means we have achieved a nationally recognised and accepted health and safety threshold standard.
In addition, we also employ our own Health and Safety Advisor – ISOsafe Consultancy and Training, who deals with all of our day to day health and safety needs, keeps us informed of all the latest legislation and ensures that we have all the necessary procedures in place. He is fully qualified to provide many of our training needs and regularly attends sites to conduct spot checks.
